District 7 Spring Meeting Minutes

The spring meeting of the District 7 Agricultural Educators was held on April 18, 2012 at Westfall High School.  The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by President-Rick Metzger. 

 

BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

á       The following motion was brought back on the table from the previous meeting. 

o   Cassie Palsgrove moved that schools who fail to pay district dues are ineligible to participate in district events the following year.  Jeff Tilley 2nd.  Tom Holton postponed definitely until this meeting.  This motion did fail. 

 

á       District Meeting at State Convention

o   Cassie Palsgrove moved Jeff Tilley 2nd moved to meet at 1:30 p.m. in the Bricker Building to vote for District 7 President.  Motion passed. 

o   Please have 2 voting delegates from each chapter in attendance. 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

á       Jeff Tilley moved and Steve Priest 2nd to move that the District no longer pay for lunch at District Evaluations.  Motion passed. 

 

á       Jeff Tilley moved and Rachel Garrett 2nd to move that chapter that want to purchase 3-5th place team plaques be allowed to purchase them through the district by contacting Jeff at no cost to the district.  Motion passed. 

 

á       Jeff Tilley moved and Loren Young 2nd to move that we purchase $10 gift cards for all district judges this year instead of the previous $25.  Motion passed. 

 

á       Scott Sharp moved and Jeff Tilley 2nd that all District 7 dues need to be paid by the national deadline of November 30th or it will result in failure to compete in future district contests for 12 months.  After a lot of discussion, Tom Holton moved to postpone indefinitely.  Bret King 2nd it. Postpone indefinitely failed.  Then Brian Breece moved to amend by striking out ineligible for 12 months and Loren Young 2nd. Amendment failed.  Then vote was taken and the motion passed with the verbal understanding that common sense would overrule if an extenuating circumstance beyond the teachers control would happen to occur. 

 

á       Upcoming District Dates

o   Steve Priest moved to accept the proposed District Calendar for 2012-2013.  Susan Metzger 2nd.  Motion passed.

á       Adjournment

o   Motion to adjourn by Jeff Tilley 2nd by Steve Priest.  Motion Passed.  Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
