What does the A-C FFA Alumni do?

A-C FFA Alumni members help with chapter contests (helping to prepare members and judge chapter contests), chaperoning chapter trips and local activities, providing scholarships for seniors, helping with chapter officer interviews and award interviews and other events. Also, the group currently meets four times per year for a dinner meeting and takes an outdoor adventure trip each summer (see the A-C FFA calendars for meeting dates and times - click here). Our main activity throughout the summer is running a portable vendor booth at the Germain Amphitheater during the concert season, which is pretty much our only fund raiser.

In short, the A-C FFA Alumni is a support organization for the A-C FFA.

What type of trip does the group take each summer and who can go?

In 1999 and 2000, the A-C FFA alumni spent the last weekend of August rafting the whitewater of the Youghigheny River in Ohiopyle, PA. For 2001, the group took a weekend backpacking adventure in West Virginia. In 2002, ten members again ventured to West Virginia, this time for a wild cave tour. The 2003 trip was to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and 2004 consisted of whitewater rafting on the New River in West Virginia. The 2005 trip was a private wild cave adventure in West Virginia. The 2006 trip involved renting a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN and exploring the activities the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area had to offer. These summer trips are open to any dues paying FFA Alumni member currently in good standing. Also, for those recent graduates who are dating current high school students or dating those under 18, leave your girlfriend/boyfriend at home. This is the adult's trip. No parental permission forms here.
