z A-C FFA BANQUETz
        
    The FFA Banquet is approaching quickly. The banquet is held on Saturday, May 14th. All members are required to attend. This banquet is to award our members for their success this year in the FFA! Come enjoy the food and have a great time of fellowship!
          
Monthly Chapter Meeting
   The monthly chapter meeting is on Monday, May 23rd, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. in the Ag. Center.  The assistant officers will be running the meeting. This has been a tradition in our chapter for several years. This is the last meeting of the year. There will be a cookout for all members if our chapter has sufficient funds.
Ag Breakfast
    Ag Breakfast for May has been moved to Wednesday, May 4th at 6:15 A.M. at Tee Jayes due to State  FFA Convention.
 
State FFA Convention
   This year State FFA Convention will be held on Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th. Seven of our members earned their State FFA Degrees and that is the highest number of members our chapter has ever had earn their degree in one year! The seven members are Tyler Genders, Nate Seitz, Sierra Jepsen, Scott Loudermilk, Kelsie Sharp, Becca Bentz, and Aaron Miller.
    Five of our members are also in the Top 4 in the State for their Proficiency Awards. They will have interviews at 9 A.M. on May 5th to determine their placing. The members are: Allyson Davis, Cheyenne Jepsen, Nate Seitz, Brittany Stevens, and Emily Cordle.
     State Convention is also a time for our members to see the new State Officer team be elected, 2 CDE teams being recognized, 2 State FFA officer candidates from our chapter, honor FFA members of all their degrees and awards, Chapter Recognitions, 1st place in all contests, and to meet new people in the FFA. On Thursday night, is the annual FFA dance.
Congratulations to all members who are earning their State Degrees and Proficiency Awards!!!
 
6th Grade Camp
    The officer team on May 2nd and 3rd are helping lead the 6th grade camp at Camp Muskingum. Sixth graders from our school will  be headed to FFA Camp Muskingum to have fun and learn leadership skills. This is a great opportunity for our officer team to gain more skills for our chapter.
 
Upcoming Contests
      Upcoming contests are Cooperative Education, Ag. Engineering, and Farm Business Management. Members who are interested need to see Mr. Tilley ASAP! The on line tests are on May 2nd and 3rd.
 
Contest Results
    The Nature Interpretation team placed 1st at State. The team of record were: Nick Brumfield, Michael Hite, Aaron Miller, and Alex Norris. Other team members that participated were: Hunter Ricketts and Emily  Cordle. Nick placed 2nd individually, Michael placed 5th, and Aaron placed 3rd individually. These boys can no longer participate in this contest because they won the State contest. The contest was at the Ohio Expo Center. Congratualtions!!!
 
   The Wildlife Management team placed 10th in State. The team members were: Andrea Hollett, Aaron Fletcher, Cordell Patterson, and Ricky Hutchinson. For first time participants, this is a very good placing.
 
   The Ag Mechanics team placed 3rd at State this year. This is the best our chapter has done in this contest ever. The members were John Miller, Nate Seitz, and Devin Collins.  John placed 2nd individually. Good job boys!!!
 
    The Outdoor Power Equipment team placed 2nd in State. The team members were: John Miller, Nate Seitz, and Devin Collins. This the best our chapter has ever done in this contest! John placed 4th individually and Nate placed 5th. Congratulations boys!
 
   The Ag Issues Forum team placed 1st at State and are eligible to compete at Nationals in the fall. This is the first year our chapter has participated in this contest. The contest is a 15 minute presentation on a certain Agricultural topic. The team can have up to 7 members. The team members for the contest were: Hannah Chenetski, Caitlin Robinson, Kayla Porter, Kelsie Sharp, and Sierra Jepsen. The contest was at Wilmington College. Great job girls!!!
 
   The Environmental and Natural Resources team placed 2nd at State again this year. The team consisted of: Alex Norris, Michael Hite, Aaron Miller, and Nick Brumfield. The contest was at Hocking College. Good job boys!!!
 
   The Aquarium Management, Animal Health, and Animal Management team participated in the State contest on Tuesday, April 19th. The members who participated in these contests were: Laura Wirth, Rachel Stoneburner, Carrie Stoneburner, Katerina Sharp, Kaylee Rickly, Colleen Trapp, Becca Bentz, Emily Cordle, Courtney Boldo, Nikki Herron, Amber McCreary, Matt Notestone, Josh Watkins, Jazmine Schorr, Jacob White, and Ricky Hutchinson. Aquarium Management placed 9th in State, Animal Health placed 15th, and Animal Management placed 17th.

Baby Animal Farm
The Baby Animal Farm will be held in the Ag Shop and outside this year!  We do this every year. Members bring in their animals and show them to all the kids in the elementary. The Baby Animal Farm will be Tuesday, May 24th.  
Top Spring Fund Raising Trip
    The top 15 mulch sellers and the top 2 Spring flower bulb sellers will be heading to a 4 day and 3 night trip in West Virginia. They will be caving and white water rafting. The trip will be Thursday, May 19th till Sunday, May  22nd.
FFA Camp
     FFA camp is coming around again. We will be attending the 5th session of the FFA camp. Camp is July 11th through the 15th. There are many activities that members will do and enjoy. FFA Camp is at Camp Muskingum. There also will be a dance. Members will participate in leadership activities, which will help them gain skills. The camp offers fishing, hiking, boating, swimming, both low and high rope courses, a paintball course, as well as, tournaments and various other activities. Last year, we had 28 attendees and this year we are trying to beat that number!
